Dragons trip to Nandos and the Liberty Stadium. Ospreys V Leinster.

The Dragons met for dinner at Nandos. Whilst there we celebrated Rhidian's birthday. After that we went to the Liberty Stadium to watch the Ospreys play. The Dragons were 'bench warmers' for the Ospreys. We were able to sit in their dugout watching the players warm-up. Thank you Nigel for arranging such a unique event. As you can see from the photos the boys had a great time. Mark.

Dragons V Gorseinon (Home). 22 February 2015.

The Dragons had difficult game against Gorseinon on Sunday. The main factor appeared to be the weather......which was awful! Gorseinon led the game at half time but had been closely matched by the Dragons. The second half was completely dominated by Gorseinon. The game finished with players, parents and coaches scurrying for shelter. It had been wet, extremely cold and miserable! There are issues for us to work on in training. Mark.

Joining our team

If you are visiting the blog because you are interested in joining our team I thought you may like some information about us. The Mumbles Dragons are a great little team. Our current age group is under 10’s which caters for boys and girls in year 5. We are part of Mumbles RFC a club with great heritage and an exciting future as we plan to build new pitches and an amazing club house in Underhill Park. Our team has many original players who started when they were just 6 years old. Unfortunately some of our team stopped playing rugby at the start of this season because of other commitments. This is why we are trying to recruit. We train every Thursday evening in Underhill Park, Mumbles at 18:30. Games are held on Sunday mornings. There are hundreds of photographs on our blog that show the team in action. There won’t be any charge for new players this season. If you stay with us our subs are just £3.50 a month if you pay by direct debit. We will provide a team jersey and socks. The kit required is basic. You will need a pair of rugby boots and a gum shield (available from stores such as Sports Direct). If you would like to try rugby and meet the team it would be great to see you. Give me a call on 07468 742 631 or send me an email sabine22@ntlworld.com. Thanks for your interest. Mark.

Ospreys V Leinster. 'Bench Warmers' and Team Meal. 27/02/15

Nigel has organised for our team to be ‘bench warmers’ at the Ospreys V Leinster game on 27/02/15. The Dragons will sit on the Liberty Stadium players benches as both teams warm up. There will be an opportunity to meet the players. Just before kick off we will move into the stands to watch the game. We will pay for all the Dragons. Adult tickets will be £15. Additional children’s tickets are £4. Season ticket holders go free but will need to swap seats so we can sit together as a group. Tickets include a free £5 Nando’s voucher. We plan to pre book our meals and meet at Nando’s at 17:00 before the game. Please let me know if you want tickets. Mark.

Dragons V Waunarlwydd. Home.

We had a great game against Waunarlwydd. This was a major step forward for us as a team as the Dragons completely dominated the game. Every single player was excellent today and the difference in the quality of our play was striking. For the first time player of the week was awarded to the whole team. You were all fantastic Dragons, well done. Mark.
