Dragons V Dunvant (Away) 25 October 2015
Our game today was great. The Dragons played really well and the contest was more balanced than last week. The rugby from both teams was excellent helped some great referring by Andy. There was some really good play from the boys. Nigel and I were pleased with all the Dragons but Captain for the day Max, Dexter and Jonah really excelled. Jonah was awarded player of the week for his passion and commitment exemplified by a crunching tackle near his own try line. Some good play today and something for us to build upon as a team. Mark.
Dragons V South Gower (Home) 18 October 2015
After a slow start to the Season we had a fixture against South Gower.
For many of our team this was the first game of the Season and for some of the new players this was the first game for the Dragons. This is a tough fixture for us as South Gower are one of the best teams that we play.
I invited Rhidian to referee the game. We also had an arrangement that if the play was one sided we would review the situation and mix the teams at half time.
The Dragons did well. Nigel and I were pleased with the quality of the tackling. There were some good runs and passing from the Dragons. As expected the game was dominated by South Gower so we mixed the teams and played a more competitive game in the second half.
I am grateful to Rhidian for his help.
Rhys was the captain for this game. Jack was awarded player of the week for his commitment and amazing injection of passion when some of our team started to drop their heads.
Well done Dragons.
Mark.
Sorry that I have not been posting regular updates
Sorry for the gap in our blog. Things were pretty tough for the Dragons towards the end of last season. A dip in numbers meant that we were often unable to form a team. Although we could still do with some more players things are looking better now. We have recruited some fantastic players from Newton school. Welcome to our team boys.
